The Secret City is an exploration of architecture in which is seen through the eyes of a skateboarder. These buildings and places are places are photographed from afar in order to find the skate spot in the photograph, it is about decoding what is and what isn’t skate-able in the image.

The city of Belfast is far from built for skateboarding and it is tough to find the freedom to practice this form of self expression, especially before the skatepark ‘Bridges’ was built in 2010. The streets are rough and narrow, security is strict and the weather is far from ideal. These circumstances have paved a way for creativity to flourish within Irish skateboarding.
